Privacy Policy

ColorizeOldPhotos (colorizeoldphotos.com) colorizes and restores photos you upload. Your photos are often family memories, so we keep as little as possible and delete it quickly.

What we collect

Photos you upload and the results we generate from them.
Technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address (used only for daily free-preview limits and abuse prevention), browser type, and basic page analytics.
Account data when you sign in to buy credits: your email address (from Google sign-in or the email you enter), your credit balance, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We do not ask for or store a password.
Payment data when you buy credits: your order records, kept to provide your credit balance, handle refunds and meet tax and accounting obligations. Card and bank details are handled by PayPal and never touch our servers.

How long we keep your photos

Uploaded photos and results are automatically deleted within 24 hours (48 hours at most). When a photo is declined by content screening we keep no copy of it, only a short log entry (time, category and an anonymous hash) that helps us handle complaints. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not sell or share them for advertising.

Who processes your data

Cloudflare: hosting, storage, bot protection (Turnstile) and analytics.
fal.ai: runs the AI models that colorize and restore your photo. Your image is sent to them for processing only.
OpenAI: each uploaded photo is sent to OpenAI's moderation service once, before processing, only to screen for prohibited content. We send no account or payment information with it.
Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”. We receive your verified email address and nothing else from your Google account.
PayPal: processes payments. We receive your name, email address and the order amount from PayPal, and never see your card or bank details.

Cookies

We use only what is needed for the site to work, bot protection, and privacy-friendly analytics.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete any photo or data earlier than the automatic schedule, or to access or correct data we hold about you (including under GDPR and CCPA). Email support@colorizeoldphotos.com with the approximate upload time and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a material way we will update the date above.
